TOWN OF PORTER BOARD MEETING MINUTES 5/19/2008
Chairman Viney called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Present were Viney, Fox, Hamilton, Towns and Sanderson. Also present Jeske and 2 residents Minutes: Viney read the Board meeting minutes from 4/21/2008. Corrections: Fox attended the Edgerton FD meeting. A ladder truck will be purchased with the grant that was applied for. Fox moved, Hamilton seconded to accept the 2008 lawn mowing bids. Passed 3-0. Fox moved, Hamilton seconded to approve with corrections. Passed 3-0. Receipts & Expenditures: The April 2008 receipts (5908-5915) and the May 2008 expenditures (checks 8066-8083) were reviewed. Check #8069 is to be held until further explanation from the Humane Society. Hamilton moved, Fox seconded to approve. Passed 3-0. Treasurers Report: Sanderson reported the account activity as of April 30, 2008.Checking Acct: $15,512.93Money Market: $89,526.80LGIP: $38,641.25Grant Acct: $2,943.01Working Acct: $2,006.48Fox moved, Hamilton seconded to approve. Passed 3-0. Fire District Updates: Evansville: Hamilton reported no appeals. Edgerton: Viney reported that the union has come up with a counter-offer and will meet to discuss. Recycling Center Report: Hamilton moved, Fox seconded to set summer recycling center hours from 8am-4pm on Saturdays, until winter hours take effect. Passed 3-0. Tire recycling day went well. The sign needs repainting. Passed 3-0. Highways: Several people will contribute to drain the pocket of water over Washington Road. Porter’s share will be $5,000. Town Hall: Greg Vanthournout would like a dead tree removed. Other: The next meeting will be June 16, 2008 and Open Book session will be on June 23, 2008 from 3-5pm at the Town Hall. Hamilton moved, Fox seconded to adjourn at 7:45pm. Passed 3-0.
