Town of Porter Board Meeting minutes-July 17, 2006

Chairman Viney called the meeting to order. Present were: Viney, Fox, Hamilton, Towns, Sanderson, Sweeney, Jeske and 5 residents.

Chairman Viney read the June 20,2006 minutes. Fox moved, Hamilton seconded to accept the minutes as read. Passed 3-0.

Receipts & Expenditures: The June 2006 receipts (8275-8281) and the July 2006 expenditures (checks #7593-7609) were reviewed. Fox moved, Hamilton seconded to approve the recipts & expenditures.
Treasurer’s Report: Sanderson reported the account activity as of June 30, 2006. Checking Acct: $83,268.51; Outstanding Checks: $2,888.11; LGIP: $59,880.38. Hamilton moved, Fox seconded to accept the Treasurer’s report. Passed 3-0.
Fire District Updates: Evansville: Hamilton reported the board agreed to entertain proposals for land assessments and site analysis of the available land. Edgerton: Viney reported NIMS 700 test was taken by Jeske, Fox, Hamilton, Viney & Towns. The City of Evansville is requesting a per head increase to $15 for 2007 and $20 for 2008, for ambulance service.
Highways: Fox, Viney & Hamilton are meeting with the county to collect more information on the Fox Road project.
Recycling Center Report: The iron bin is full. Ed Miller will talk to Marty Clift about paper blowing out of his trailer.
Building Inspector/Zoning Report: Jeske reported $900 in permits & applications for the month. Tom Woodstock: pole shed: $100; Don Porter: deck & windows: $100; John Cook: driveway: $175; Robert Degner: Zoning Change: $350; Hatlen Bros.: driveway; $175.
Attorney Roethe will send a letter to Johnson, Johnson & McGuire to remove the underground wiring. Hamilton moved, Fox seconded that Mel Shotliff should move his fence line to match the existing fence line of Remley’s. Passed 3-0.
Town Hall: nothing to report.
Other: The Rock County Humane Society is requesting a fee increase to $45 for holding a stray dog.
Hamilton moved, Fox seconded to adjourn. Passed 3-0. The next meeting will be August 21, 2006 at 7 p.m.
