Town of Porter meeting minutes-June 20, 2006

Chairman Viney called the meeting to order. Present were Viney, Fox, Hamilton, Towns, Sanderson, Sweeney, Jeske and 4 residents.

Chairman Viney read the May 15, 2006 minutes. Corrections: Fox and Hamilton fixed the gates at the Recycling Center. Fox moved, Hamilton seconded to accept the corrected minutes. Passed 3-0.

Receipts & Expenditures: The May 2006 receipts (8272-8274) and the June 2006 expenditures (checks #7578-7592) were reviewed. Fox moved,Hamilton seconded to approve the receipts and expenditures. Passed 3-0.
Treasurer’s Report: Sanderson reported the account activity as of May 31, 2006. Checking Account: $87,673.86; Outstanding Checks: $0; Local Government Investment Pool: $59,639.78. Hamilton moved, Fox seconded to accept the Treasurer’s report. Passed 3-0.
Fire District Updates: Evansville: Hamilton reported that the 911 burn procedures have been approved. Bill Weisensel was very happy with the response time with his recent house fire. Edgerton: Viney reported that the training site towers are up. Officers are President Linsley, Vice President Viney, Secretary Dickinson.
Recycling Center Report: Ed reported $505 collected.
Building Inspector/Zoning report: Jeske reported $900 in permits & applications for the month. Ralph Pelkey~garage and electric~$100; Gerald Vanthournout~screened porch~$100; Ron Zweifel~mobile home~$50; Hatlen Bros.~CUP~$350; Sid Anderson Jr.~CUP~$350.
Jeske reported that the non-compliant trailer has been pulled into the woods, and the generator was removed. Jeske will take more pictures of the Burno non-compliant property. Mel Shotliff has moved the electric fence back 3 more feet, to a total of 8 feet now. Hamilton moved, Fox seconded to table the subject. Passed 3-0.
Town Hall: No action was taken on the year-round exercise class.
Other: Fox moved, Hamilton seconded to approve fireworks permits for Gary Martin and David Viney. Passed 3-0. Fox moved, Hamilton seconded to approve the Cooksville General Store liquor licenses and 3 operators permits. Passed 3-0. Viney moved, Hamilton seconded to approve reimbursement of mileage and registration for the Clerks Institute in Green Bay. Passed 3-0.
Hamilton moved, Fox seconded to adjourn. Passed 3-0. The next meeting will be July 17, 2006 at 7p.m.
